To manage your database, you need a tool. Whether your databases run in the cloud, on Windows, on macOS, or on Linux, your tool doesn't need to run on the same platform as the database.
I made an app with AppleScript called JARVIS. When I tell it to 'open chrome', it opens google chrome, this is working on Script Editor and out side of script editor. I can also tell it to 'open a new tab' and it opens a new tab using keystrokes. Gavin Hird 59. Posted March 5, 2011. UltraEdit seems to do a decent job and it runs on both Mac, Linux and Windows. The syntax highlighting definitions are kept up to date with the latest revision from the end of January. BBEdit is a good editor too for the Mac, but the syntax highlighting is a bit dated.
